Hi everyone! Happy to have you here. I wanted to share some of my bible study content for any Jesus lover or Jesus curious girl out there. Reading the Bible daily has changed my life, heart, mind and soul and I will never stop talking about it and how God's word is alive. No matter how many time you read it, you will never grow tired of it, you will find new meanings in a verse you had been reading 20 times already and get new revelations every single time and just get to learn God's character and goodness. I feel like this is crucial on your walk with Jesus : learning about Him to be able to recognize His voice is KEY.
It's what happened with one of my favourite verse - a very well known one - Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future - I remember when I first read it, it brought me the comfort to know that my Father in Heaven, the creator of my soul, has GOOD plans for me. He is a good God, with good plans for your life.
This is His promise to me and all of you. How reassuring? I know that reassured me a lot in a season where I felt a bit lost and not sure of what tomorrow holds.
When I re-read that same verse lately, I got a totally new revelation out of it and I felt it on my heart to share it with you as I hope it can encourage someone today.
Here are my obversations and thoughts:
- "For I know the plans I have for you"
So powerful to notice here how God talk at the first person. It doesn't say, for YOU know the plans I have for you. We are NOT supposed to be aware of God's plans for us. We are supposed to have faith and trust in His good plans. The YES GOD, has to come before "what are the plans for my life". One of the enemy's tactic of fear is to make you believe that God's plans for you are not good and therefore to try and go grab your own blessings and take control of your life. Remember that only the things build with God will last and His Will for your life are 100x better than what you can even imagine.
- "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"
Now that we know that His plans are to prosper us, give us hope and a future we can walk in confidence, keeping our eyes on Jesus and knowing that we are in safe hands. He is already in tomorrow. I also love the part that mentions that his plans are not to harm us. That immediately brought me to Isaiah 54:15 "If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing'
This is why we must keep Jesus as our personal shepherd, to guide us and keep us safe. If we wander away, we can encounter harm and deception.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8
This is where it gets interesting, the first time I read that verse I just stopped there and never ask myself how do I actually get and access these good plans, prostration and future? What does God wants for me?
And the answer is in the following verse. God doesn't leave us wondering the how, he provides the answers and ways of us understanding how He works.
SO WHAT DOES GOD WANTS FROM US? While he supervises and orchestrates our good plans, hope and future.
- "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you"
God asks us to call on Him, to come and pray to Him. and He will listen He always watches over us, He always listens. This is our purpose here, this is the one thing God asks from us, it is so SEEK HIM with all of our heart and He will be found by us. How precious is this? Just like a good Father, he takes over everything and just wants you to come as a child to Him and seek Him.
I hope this blessed someone today!
XO,Marilou
